five things with frankie hearts fashion

I’m just going to blurt this out there, I have a serious crush on Nicole from frankie hearts fashion. I mean, I want to be her. I want to live in her closet. And I really want her wedding ring. There are a lot of fashion bloggers who have great style but the ones that actually have personality is like…well…I won’t. But Nicole? She is damn hilarious. And she likes to cuss. She’s my sister from another mister. Without further ado, here are her five things! Numero dos is my favorite.

1. Hi my name is Nicole and I have a serious shoe addiction. Ahhh…I feel so much better now that I got that off my chest. Not only do I hoard shoes but I also like to organize them by color….not. crazy. at. all.

2.  From about age 5 until 15 I ate, slept, and breathed dance. (And yes, people like that wicked lady from “Dance Mom’s” really do exist…don’t mess with people and their dance moves. Fur. Reals.) I then spent my later teen years parlaying all of my professional training into dancing at bar mitzvahs.  (no you did not read that wrong…I am LOL’ing as I type this). It was a living. Mazel Tov.

3. (Warning: I am about to get sappy. ready. set. go…..) My Mom and my sister are my best friends. We can call each other 40 times a day and still manage to find things to talk about.

4. I absolutely LOVE to bake. I’m not sure where this obsession came from considering I’m not big on sweets…But I now own every baking tin, piping bag, and cake pop maker ever invented.

5. I swear like a drunken sailor.  It’s obviously one of my more attractive qualities…NOT. I’m definitely making my Mom proud on a daily basis. She tells people I learned it in the streets and she doesn’t know where I came from!

Thanks for having me Christin!! xo

five things with a little dash of ash

For your reading pleasure, today we have the pleasure of some very good company. When I met Ashley from a {little} dash of ash back in November, it solidified that she was one of the nicest bloggers out there. She started her blog to share the things she loves and luckily for all of us, what she loves is nothing short of amazing.  Also, she has one of the most amazing boyfriends of all time. That is no joke at all, I know this for a fact.

1. I have the best boyfriend in the world… and I am head over heels in love with him!  We have the best meeting story ever… right out of a movie!! If you missed it, you can read it {here}!

2. 8 months until I turn 30 – and I.CAN’T.WAIT! Seriously, I truly believe my 30’s will be the best years of my life and I am ready for them to begin! The only thing I haven’t accomplished on my ‘before I turn 30 bucket list’ is to go to Paris!  I am currently planning our trip there now… I seriously dream in macarons every day!

3. I’m obsessed with anything preppy! Stripes, dots, navy, white, pink, oxfords, plaids, chambray, sperry’s – you name it! I can’t walk into J.Crew without buying something and my wardrobe is slowly becoming extra preppy!

4. The first time I ever took a career assessment test it told me I should be a nurse, the second time I took the test, it told me I should be a marine biologist! REALLY? I work in corporate retail and am extremely happy I never listened to those job placement tests – I pass out at the thought of needles, pretty sure I could not be a nurse! :)

currently I work at the {free people} home office!!
5. I have started a diet every single Monday for the the past 6 years… it usually lasts until lunch on that particular Monday!  When I break my diet on Monday, I tell myself I’ll start on Tuesday… and so on!  I hate dieting (and clearly can’t stick to it), but I love yoga!

Thank you Christin for having me!!! xxoo.

five things with fashion truffles

Hi there C.H.ers! Viv here from the fashion and style blog, Fashion Truffles. I was so happy when Christin asked me to stop by and share 5 things of myself with all you lovely people. I think I got some good ones, but I’ll let you all be the judge of that…

1. I have finger toes. No joke. My toes are super skinny and super long so my friends have always made fun of me. You want proof? Check out their awesomeness in the picture below.

2. I’m extremely clumsy. It’s almost sad. I fall and/or bump into something almost on a daily basis. It gets old…
3. I can’t whistle. Many people have tried to teach me and all that comes out is spit. I know, it’s sad. So for all you whistlers out there, go ahead, show off.
4. I had a thing with lifting my skirt and showing my undies to complete strangers when I was a little girl. My mom would try to explain that those were my “private areas” and I shouldn’t be doing that, but I just didn’t want to listen. I would run up to strangers, lift my skirt, and then run away. I was an interesting young lady.
5. English is my second language. Some of you might have already known that, but what you don’t know is my tendency to not get common American idioms quite right.  For example, I would always say “I’d like to be a mosquito on the wall when…” until Kenny finally was nice enough to tell me that I don’t want to be a mosquito, I want to be a fly. Same thing, no?!

A big thanks to Christin for having me over today!

Thank you so much for sharing, Viv! I have a SERIOUS issue with stationary objects jumping out at me all the time and I can’t whistle for crap. Quite problematic in my family since we have a family whistle. Yes. More on that later. Make sure you stop by Fashion Truffles and show Viv some love today!

five things with a simple affair

What do Irish dance and eye patches have in common? One most beautiful blogger named Carly. Before we even had the pleasure of meeting in person (eeek!), I knew we would be best friends forever. You see, Carly gets me and she herself is a real character. She is funny, not as funny as me obviously, she is a mean DIYer, her blog is the bomb dot com, and she’s blonde. Everything that I could possibly want in life. Oh and the Irish dancing. I love to make music. I wanna do that. Carly, wanna teach me? It could be community service, or the opposite of that because I would surely be an annoyance.

Okay, enough about Carly and I having fun and onto her five things!

1. I will only eat tomatoes if they’re diced, preferably in the form of pico de gallo and/or guacamole. I really hate them when they’re sliced so they are never allowed on my sandwiches. No thank you. Stay away.

2. Some of you have already been lucky enough to view some snapshots of my old glory days and know about my good looks.  I have had glasses for a whopping 21 years.  Glasses for little nuggets were not on the market when I was two.  There were also eye patches involved throughout these years as well, but none of that will ever appear on the internet.

3. In high school, I took a lovely gym class called Lifetime Sports, and you’ll never guess what I learned. I am TERRIBLE at every single lifetime sport. Tennis? Bad. Golf? It ain’t pretty. Curling? Let’s just say, I am not meant to be on ice. I must start working on hand-eye coordination because I cannot Irish dance forever that’s for sure.

4. Speaking of Irish dance, I have been dancing for 17 years and yes, yes the curly hair is a wig.  I did have to curl it with sponge rollers until I was 12 {thanks Mom}.  When we danced on Good Morning America, Charlie Gibson shook my hand after the performance, and I believe our dialogue went a little something like this, Charlie: “Wow, you sure do get sweaty!” Me, frazzled: “Thank you?” Oh the memories…

5.  I am that person who will read the end of the book to find out the ending first.  Well not always first. I’ll wait until I get to that really intense part, and then that’s when I go to the back of the book.  I also once bribed my sister to tell me the ending of a movie because I wanted to know so badly.

Stop by and show Carly some love today, she graduates from college this weekend! I am so proud of you, Carly!!!
